I followed the directions for toast-set the rack to the B position,turned the temp to 500 degrees, set on bake/toast,turned the timer dial past 20 minute than back to the toast shade I desired, I selected the lightest shade conceivable. I was a small nervous following reading the burned toast comments so I stood by and watched. The toast was wonderful, specifically as it would have been in a toaster.
Next I tried a 12" frozen pizza, followed the instructions-set to 425 degrees, set the rack to the A position, set the timer. The only factor I did differently was I placed a sheet of alumium foil below the bottom heating elements on top rated of the crumb tray since I put the pizza directly on top rated on the rack (directions do not indicate to do this). I added extra cheese and spices, set the timer for 10 minutes. The top rated of the pizza was done completely. The crust was slightly burned on the bottom, subsequent time I will set the timer for 9 minutes and lower the temp(9 minutes for a frozen pizza! wow, even my pizzaz pizza cooker takes 25 minutes).
Yes, the dial is hard to turn at initial, it does loosen up, so far this is my only complaint. I can't wait to roast chicken or a full meal employing the convection function. So far so really good, incredibly pleased with this product. I got it for $104.00, so I'm even happier with the value.
