This item seems to be identical in many approaches to the Sharper Image Super Wave oven as observed on television. It is quite substantial and lights up the complete room like a UFO in your house, so I put mine on the deck when in use! But you cannot extremely put that a lot in it. We have a loved ones of five. Very limited amount of space for actual food inside the unit.
The 1st issue the teenagers and I ready had been some chicken fingers, which "air fried" rather speedily and were pretty fantastic, though a tiny dry, but I chalked that up to leaving them in a small as well extended, due to the fact it was our first try at it.
Next, I tried some fish(flounder). Definitely a studying curve. The cook fished rapidly, it wasn't bad. However, I could only put two pieces in at a time, and this was a discomfort, since there are often 4 or 5 of us eating (two adults, unless dad's at function, and 3 children). You have to take away the "grill" to get the fish out with out breaking it up, and the grill is Extremely hot--this created things rather tough and scary. Then you have to put it back in with a lot more fish. Way as well considerably difficulty. You cannot honestly use a pot holder either, too unwieldy.
Hamburgers--they were pretty fantastic, pretty quick. i was obtaining superior now, following the fish challenge. I fit four in at as soon as, which was fantastic, given that dad was at function.
A small chicken (%lbs). This was disastrous. They give you a grabber to pick up the wire rack, but there is no way you can flip a chicken in the middle of cooking--this point is way as well hot and risky for any kind of rotating/turning whilst cooking. We cooked it for hours(very likely three), and the thermometer was nevertheless giving us incredibly uneven temperature readings. We lastly decided to take it out. They recommend a turkey breast, I genuinely do not see how that would be doable or secure in any way.
Cooking is certainly not substantially more rapidly than the common oven, or convection (which is definitely faster). The item is gigantic--we honestly do not have room for it in our galley style kitchen--a lot larger than a crock pot. I cannot see how it saves energy, since as it cycled on and off, all the lights in the residence would dim.
Directions provided are dicey at greatest--not considerably specifics on how to really use it as far as recipes. Who buys Cornish game hens?
Clean up is a discomfort. Essentially, it's a big glass bowl. The item is so hot when you are completed there is no way you can accidentally touch any metal that's been in it and not get burned. I truly didn't like working with this, it felt as well hard.
Overall, it was entertaining for a few items (I'd do the burgers again, and perhaps the fish) but a little as well substantially difficulty, and without a doubt too massive, which made it tricky to deal with, as properly, at the similar time it was definitely too compact to cook a decent adequate quantity of food at one time.
I'd skip this and invest a small extra in a great countertop convection oven. This is a gimmicky item.
4 stars only coz it doesnt cook evenly. I have to regularly open it and flip whatever im cooking just to cook all sides BUT, I Nonetheless Enjoy IT. Healthiest alternative I ever produced. It cooks everything it toasts as well. I hardly ever use my stove and oven except to cook soup but all else, I use this. Its cooks bacon beautifully. I reheat my pizza here and its nonetheless crunchy. Its a bit of a chore cleaning it up coz its heavy but what i do is i put a foil plate on the bottom to catch the oils and the grease so cleaning is kept to a minimum. I appreciate this.
